OK, OK…one more post before I go in for eye surgery.
Thank goodness for technology. My parents have been keeping in touch via Skype and Facebook and have just sent through these breathtaking images. They’re on a tour around Africa and are currently in the Serengeti, staying at Faru Faru. I just had to share the pictures. Stunning! Their tented villa overlooks a Rhino watering hole, so they can see some of the most beautiful (and dangerous) animals from their wall to wall windows (even while taking a bath).
Awesome. Africa is beautiful, isn’t it? My sister just got back from South Africa, actually…she was there teaching for two years while in the Peace Corps.
Though the place she stayed at was not as nice as the pictures in your post…no, she lived with a host family in small rural area, with no running water, no nice floors (they had to sweep the dust out the door daily, as they had dirt floors), and they went to the bathroom in a hole. Can you imagine?! I don’t know how she did it…but I give her credit.
It made her realize how lucky we truly are…and the everyday things we often take advantage of. I have several great pictures from her, if you’re interested I could share!

I wish I could be there! That’s fantastic that your sister gave back the way she did. My parents have been spending quite a lot of time outside of the ‘resorts’ and I think it’s been a very moving trip for them. We’re going to be looking into ways to give back through our company..so stay tuned.
