Nuit Blanche

If you’re looking to get your festival juices flowing, take note of Nuit Blanche. From Sunset to sunrise on September 29th, 2007, Toronto will be transformed into an all-night playground for everyone to participate in! Five areas of the city will be bespectacled with art installations which will dazzle the senses and excite the child in all of us!

This will be the 2nd year for the festival. Mayor David Miller announced in March that this festival would become an annual event for the city. Last year was an absolute delight. I’m not sure what to say other than it was totally magical. Imagine, you have a map which shows you 5 different zones of the city. In each zone is a series of dots that identify the various “artistic destinations” – your mission is to find them and uncover each of their unique experiences.

This year, the festival has added a mobile feature for guests. txtART lets you create your own audio experience by using your cell phone to dial in and listen to exhibition artists and curators talk about their work. Visit

Philosopher’s Walk in the University of Toronto was sprayed with a dense fog. This was by far the most photographed installation. It made for some beautiful pictures.
