A few months ago I saw an amazing sight on my TV. I think I was watching Good Morning America, and up from a strange looking machine floated logo-shaped clouds. It turns out that product was called FLOGOS.
FLOGOS are flying logos…an invention that only hit the market last June in the US. Made from soap and lighter than air, they glide across the sky, lasting for 30-40 minutes. Oh, and no need to worry, they are environmentally friendly.
“It was really interesting to watch the faces on the hundreds of people who crowded around to watch the FLOGOS being created and floating away.”, reminisced Tom Richard, President & CEO of FLOGOS Canada when speaking about his first event. I can only imagine the crowd this would draw at an event. And what a novel way to display a corporate brand or image. But why stop there? For the wedding couple who has everything, why not float a custom monogram in the air.
The details
. FLOGOS are available in 24″, 36″ and 48″ diameters (although the company can also quote custom sizes).
. Originally the FLOGOS were only available in a standard white but now they’re available in a limited number of solid colours.
So, what’s next for FLOGOS?
. The research department is working with Crayola to develop new colours and they also hope to be able to produce multi-coloured FLOGOS from one machine.
. They are also researching the use of luminescence to enhance the FLOGOS at night.
. They are developing some super sized machines for super sized FLOGOS, and
. They’re even working on a top secret project for the U.S. military!

Wow – this is amazing! Love this idea – going to see if it might work for one of my clients getting married outdoors 😉

Crazy!!… You know I was in New York, say 2 years back and saw something very similar. Walking down the street, I couldn’t help notice this tremendously large, logo looking perfectly round image floating over the city of Manhattan. Talk about stop and stare… I was sure it was some sort of promotional stunt, but never heard another thing about it. Love the idea and all the possible applications.
Speaking of luminescence, there is on the market now a bubble product for a standard bubble machine which when used in tandem with a Blacklight turn Blue and Gold… Used them at two events last year – Messy and slippery (as are all bubbles) but VERY cool. I will post a pic on my blog (beevents.blogspot.com as I am not sure how to here).
Only comment – make sure your client never sees the location the bubbler and blacklights are located, under the blacklight, all that soapy mess glowing blue and gold looks like a chemical spill! (does no damage, easy clean up.)

Cynthia – so delighted! I’d love to see this being used even more in Toronto. It’s still such a new technology.
Ryan @ BeEvents – thanks for sharing. I’ll be sure to check out your post! Sounds interesting.
