the distillery . a historic venue . a chic address

This month’s ISES Toronto event was our 2nd annual venue crawl. A great opportunity for event professionals to tour some of the hottest venues in the city and, quite frankly, act like college kids. This year’s event was held at the beautiful, historic Distillery District just east of downtown.

Now if you haven’t been to visit, imagine this: rugged brick pedestrian-only roads wind their way through 13 acres of land and 40 Victorian heritage buildings. These buildings were all a part of the Gooderham & Worts distillery, dating back to 1832. In 2001 when the land and buildings were purchased by Cityscape Holdings, they revitalized the old and crumbling area and recreated it into an arts and culture destination. It now houses some of the most beautiful galleries, cafes, restaurants and retail stores.

It is the preeminent address for events – it’s mixture of authentic architecture and proximity to downtown makes it a favorite in the scene.

At our event, The Distillery announced their plans to release 2 new spots as event venues. In the interim, I wanted to share some beautiful images with you.
