The sun has set and your event is just getting started. The guests have just enjoyed a delicious dinner and they’re antsy for some entertainment. The lights dim and the guests fade into blackness. A light catches their eye and all attention is diverted to the stage. The music begins. Out of the dark appears a line of fluorescent yellow, another of pink, and yet another of blue. A crescendo of glow-in-the-dark paint colours blend together to create an artistic masterpiece.

I’m still agog by David Stark’s Robin Hood gala, an event that featured giant chalkboards depicting scenes of New York which guests could draw on.
