We’re planning a “green” event, I’m hiring a “green consultant” for our business, Blog Action Day is fast approaching and I’m building a house using green products. I do believe that I’m slowly but surely turning green. So, I’ve decided to challenge 5 of the people in my blogroll with the following question. What are you doing to introduce environmental sustainability into your daily life? I’m hoping that simple tips and tricks will inspire our readers to make little changes in their lives. Oh, and be sure to pass this question on to at least 3 people in your blogroll. Let’s see how far this can go.
Kim at Parisian Party
Maryam at My Marrakesh
Liene at Blue Orchid Design
Gabrielle and Angela at The Notebook
Saundra at Planning Forever
Here are my top 3:
1. I buy locally grown fruits & vegetables – locally grown equals less gas and less emissions, not to mention tastes better and supports local farms.
2. I’ve switched my computer to energy saving mode – with this much blogging, the less energy I can use the better.
3. I’ve switched all of our lightbulbs to CFLs (compact fluorescent bulbs) – they use about 75% less energy than a standard light bulb and last about 10 times longer!
Perfect timing, I am actually posting a green post tomorrow – just had to wait to get permission to use the pics I wanted for it. 🙂
Hmmm . . . my daily life. Here are some simple ones:
1) I drink from glasses instead of plastic bottles.
2) Make it a point to separate the recycle from the garbage.
3) Unplug all electronic appliances when I’m not using them (including cell phone and laptop chargers).
4) don’t take bags from stores if I don’t need them.
5) bring my own coffee to go cup to the coffee shop if I know I will be stopping by one ( though this one is not always feasible).

This is great! I’ve been giving this a lot of thought, so let’s see…my top three are:
1. In order for these changes to be effective, I would most definitely educate my entire household on the important task of preserving our world to give hope to future generations.
2. I would try plan my daily road trips a little better to avoid the crazy Dallas traffic, and take the advantage of utilizing our public railing system to get me where I need to go at times.
3. RECYLCE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE! I’ve got a bad habit of gathering things at the last minute to take out to the recycle bin. I’ve got to make it a point to practice this more often that I should.
