I recently read an article by Stephanie Wright for The Wedding Co. that really piqued my interest. In it, she tells a story about a couple who poo poohed the idea of having a (ho hum) traditional wedding cake and opted instead for something that better captured who they are as a couple. The solution was a 7 tier cheese ‘cake’ which was cut and plated with individual description flags for all the guests to enjoy after dinner.
Now, this isn’t the newest idea on the block. The UK’s House of Cheese has been doing cheese wedding cakes for quite some time (picture above is from House of Cheese).
Although I’m not sure that the cheese ‘cake’ will make it on the cake table at my wedding, I love the idea of personalizing elements of a wedding to suit the bride & groom.
So, will you forgo tradition and go fromage?
