I ran into Jim Romanik of ePly at ISES Eventworld earlier this month. We spoke at great length (over a few martinis) about the state of the event industry, blogging and his company. I found him very interesting and told him that I’d like to highlight his brand on my blog.
The following is a snippet of my interview with Jim:
Lara – Tell me about ePly?
Jim – ePly is a complete online event registration service that covers every phase of the online registration process: form planning, design, programming, testing, payment processing, refund management tools, registration limits and tools to gather all the reports event planners need so they can focus on what they do best: planning the actual event.
Lara – Who would benefit from an online registration system?
Jim – People in charge of planning events where pre-registration is required. We work with professional event planning companies and event planners within corporations and not-for-profits.
Lara – What tips do you have for planners who are thinking about using an online registration system?
Jim:
– Do your research and ask a lot of questions to be sure a particular system will meet all of your requirements before signing a contract.
– When you are comparing systems make sure to look at more than just the price. You may get a quote for $100 and $1000, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
– Allow sufficient time to get fully set up and tested. Just like event planning when it is done right it looks simple from the outside, but there are a lot of details that need to be considered.
Lara – What makes ePly different from other systems?
Jim:
We Manage The Entire Set Up Of The Online Registration Form For You

Lara – So, what’s next for ePly?
