The Grammy’s used it last night to weave their event into conversations of the masses, President Obama recognized its incredible power, we first saw the pictures of flight 1549 through it and we conversed with friends around the world, thanks to CNN, during the Inauguration with it. IT is social media. IT is not a trend or a whim, but a movement. And, with each second that passes, it evolves and remolds itself into something new and event more valuable.
I have been so immersed in social media over the past few years and have seen such great returns that I have made it my mission to advocate it within the special events industry.
On February 26th, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., I’ll be a part of a panel of social media advocates as a part of The Special Event Bootcamp.
On March 26th, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., I’ll be speaking at the CSEME 2009 show.
Topic . The NEW way to make friends and influence people – Harnessing the power of social media.
There are a few more ‘international’ events on the horizon which I’ll let you know more about. Until then, I do hope to see you at some of these events.
