How many of us have been to a fundraising event and watched as a live or silent auction whipped guests into a frenzy of bidding? This works out wonderfully for the fundraising organization, but what about the company who donated the auction item? Renaissance Time Square has taken revenue-raising and fund-raising to a whole new level…
ebayers were invited to participate in the chance to host the world’s most spectacular New Year’s Eve party from their own exclusive perch overlooking the NYC’s Time Square celebration. For the winning bidder, RTS agreed to donate 25% of the highest bid to the Amazonas Sustainable Foundation. A win/win, no?
Now although the auction ended without any bids, it does raise the question as to whether this idea could evolve to other event experiences being sold over ebay. What could be next?…
